To us, parenting means providing unconditional love and creating a healthy, happy environment where our children can thrive. We will encourage our children to try lots of things, visit new places, so he/she can figure out what he/she likes and enjoys doing. We believe that if you have hobbies and passions, life is a much richer experience. Sue will be a stay-at-home mom for the first few months and then will work part-time. We have a nanny coming to our home to help with the kids and housework.

Faith is very important to us and we are active in our faith community, especially since our church is right next door. We understand that raising a child involves love, infinite care, attention and patience, and we will devote ourselves to providing these things.

Providing a good education is one of our most important goals. Everyone in Sue’s family graduated from college with many of them, including Sue, obtaining graduate degrees too. In Patrick’s family, his mother had high expectations for him to graduate from college. She felt that “paths” are opened by committing to education. We will ecourage our children to reach for the stars and help them get there in every way we can. 

We will always be open with our children about his or her origin, and we will discuss the importance of his or her birth family. We will discuss adoption with openness, love, and respect. Mostly, we'd like to let you know that we will shower our children with love, attention, and laughter every day.
